Verizon offering open enrollment in Total Mobile Protection insurance program

Verizon has announced a special promotion to celebrate the impending arrival of summer.

Starting today, June 15th, Verizon is offering open enrollment in its Total Mobile Protection program. Total Mobile Protection costs $11 per month for smartphones and includes coverage for lost or stolen devices, damaged devices, post-warranty defects, cracked screen repair, and “Tech Coach support” that can help you with any issues you might be having with any of your devices.

Verizon says that when it comes to cracked screen repair, it’s got a $49 deductible. It also offers same-day cracked screen repair in 270 locations, including 115 cities with techs that can come to you. Devices eligible for cracked screen repair include the iPhone SE through iPhone 7, Galaxy S5 through S7 and S7 edge, Galaxy Note 4 and 5, and Droid Turbo and Maxx.

Also of note is that if you need a device replacement, you can get a replacement as quickly as the next day.

Verizon’s open enrollment for Total Mobile Protection will be available until July 14th. Customers that enroll in Total Mobile Protection or Total Mobile Protection Multi-Device (covers up to 3 lines for $33 per month) by July 14th can get a free Mophie powerBOOST mini battery pack.

Some folks might be hesitant about signing up for insurance when buying a new smartphone because it’s an added cost on top of what they’re already shelling out for their new device. Now Verizon customers that might’ve found themselves in that situation can get insurance for their phone, even if they bought it awhile ago.

Do you have insurance on your smartphone?
