Facebook today updated its Safety Check feature by rounding out the set of tools found within. To start, it is now possible to start and/or support a fundraiser directly from within Safety Check. Facebook says this can help kickstart the process of gathering needed funds. Facebook is bringing its Community Help tool to Safety Check as well, which makes it simple for people to ask for and find specific types of help from their community members. People will now also be able to share personal notes on their Safety Check News Feed, so friends and loved ones can read more about what might have transpired. Last, Facebook says it will attempt to provide more information about specific crises as they unfold through verified accounts. Making all this information available under the Safety Check umbrella should help people experiencing crises or other events find what they need more quickly. The tools are rolling out over the next few weeks.
