Samsung teases Galaxy M with teardrop notch and large battery

Samsung's got a new Galaxy series launching soon.

Galaxy M is the name of a new family of Samsung smartphones. Teased on Amazon India, the Galaxy M series is "especially designed for the millennial users." There's a teardrop notch at the top of the screen, which is notable because Samsung is one of the few companies that has avoided the notch so far.

Samsung will also include a dual rear camera setup with its upcoming Galaxy M phone, which will have an ultra wide angle snapper. A "large battery and 3x faster charging" will be included, too, along with a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Other features teased by Samsung include a "large and attractive display" and a "powerful processor".

Finally, the teaser page says that we'll see more on January 28.

A Samsung executive has said that the Galaxy M phones will be budget-friendly, with prices ranging from less than 10,000 rupees ($141 USD) up to 20,000 rupees ($283 USD). The devices are meant to go after the same consumers buying phones from companies like Xiaomi, who sell good-looking Android phones with respectable features at aggressive prices. The good news is that the Galaxy M phones are expected to roll out globally after their launch in India this month, so lots of us will get to take the Galaxy M series for a spin.
