Google Maps for Android will now let you set arrival and departure times

Google Maps users have long been able to choose their arrival and departure times when setting up navigation on the web, but that feature is only just now arriving on mobile.

Google Maps for Android now lets you set an "Arrive by" and "Depart at" time when you're navigating. Just select your destination and then tap the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the screen and you'll be able to set your desired arrival or departure time.

If you decide to set a future "Depart at" time, Google Maps will tell you when it believes you'll arrive at your destination. Setting an "Arrive by" time will tell you approximately what time you should leave to get to your destination by the desired time.

This is the latest in a streak of great additions to Google Maps, following speed traps and a wide rollout of speed limits. Lots of people rely on their phones exclusively for navigation, and now they're getting access to a nifty tool that desktop users have had for a while now. The feature doesn't appear to be live on iOS quite yet, but here's to hoping that it launches there soon, too.
