It's widely expected that Apple will introduce new iPhones next month, but before September gets underway, a new report claims to have more information on Apple's upcoming smartphones.
Apple will launch three new iPhone models that use a design similar to the iPhone X, according to a report from Bloomberg. The largest model, codenamed D33, will have a 6.5-inch OLED display and design with a glass back and stainless steel edges like on the iPhone X. Also said to be included are dual rear cameras and the ability to view content in apps side-by-side.
The existing iPhone X will reportedly get an upgrade, too, to a new version codenamed D32. Both D32 and D33 will allegedly have improved processing speed and camera performance. Apple may also offer versions with dual SIM card slots in some parts of the globe.
Rounding out the trio is a more affordable iPhone codenamed N84. This model will reportedly look like the iPhone X, but have a 6.1-inch LCD screen with aluminum edges rather than stainless steel. It'll also come with different colors on the back of the phone.
Apple is said to have changed its naming for these new iPhone models several times. One possibility that's reportedly being considered is "iPhone Xs". Apple has also allegedly considered dropping the "Plus" branding that it's used for its larger iPhone models in recent years.
Today's report also contains info on a couple of other new Apple products. The new Apple Watch models are said to look similar to the current versions, complete with similar overall size so that existing Apple Watch straps will work. The big change with the new Apple Watch models is that they'll allegedly have larger screens that go nearly edge-to-edge.
And then there are the new iPad models. Apple is said to be planning new iPad Pro devices with 11-inch and 12.9-inch screens and slimmer bezels. These devices will allegedly ditch the home button and fingerprint reader and use Face ID and gesture navigation, like the iPhone X.
