Gaming phones are popular in mobile right now, with several major device makers launching gaming-centric handsets. Now another company has come forward with its own gaming phone.

The Doogee S70 is an aggressive-looking Android phone with a focus on gaming. It's got a ruggedized shell that includes an aluminum alloy frame, "high-quality plastic corner edges", and a shatterproof body. Doogee is also including a Game Mode that you can enter by pressing a button on the side of the phone. When in Game Mode, the Doogee S70 will clear running apps, block notifications, and reject calls so that you can focus on the action.

Doogee's gaming enhancements don't end there. The company says that it's got a cooling module in the S70 that can decrease CPU temperature by 7 degrees Celsius. Finally, Doogee plans to offer a gamepad that attaches to the S70 and connects over Bluetooth. The gamepad adds a d-pad and analog stick.

When it comes to raw specs, the Doogee S70 is equipped with a 5.99-inch 2160x1080 display, 2.5GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage that you can expand on with a microSD card. There's a dual rear camera setup with 12MP and 5MP sensors as well as a rear fingerprint reader, and there's a 16MP wide angle camera around front. The S70's battery measures in at a whopping 5500mAh. Rounding out the Doogee S70's spec list is Android 8.1 and IP68 water and dust resistance.

There's no word yet on the Doogee S70's price or launch. The phone will likely be sold unlocked, and it includes support for FDD LTE bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/19/20 and TDD LTE bands 34/38/39/40/41.

The Doogee S70 definitely fits in with the trend of gaming phones we've seen lately. The aggressive design might turn off some folks, but it does have high-end specs that should be able to handle most mobile games with ease. There's also that 5500mAh battery that makes it an interesting device.
