For months now, Verizon has been offering six months of free Apple Music to tempt consumers into signing up for one of its unlimited rate plans. Now a new report says that Verizon may be making Apple Music an permanent perk for select customers.
Verizon will soon include an Apple Music subscription with its Beyond Unlimited and Above Unlimited plans. That's according to internal documentation seen by 9to5Mac, which adds that the free Apple Music perk will be added to these plans on Thursday, January 17.
What's more, it's expected that the addition of Apple Music to the Beyond Unlimited and Above Unlimited plans will not change their prices. The leaked docs show that the plans will continue to cost $50 and $60 per month per line for four lines, respectively.
The base Go Unlimited plan will not get this free Apple Music perk, according to today's report, but it will still offer six months of Apple Music to new subscribers. The Go Unlimited plan is priced at $40 per month per line for four lines.
Getting free Apple Music is a nice little perk for customers on eligible Verizon unlimited plans. A subscription to Apple Music normally costs $10 per month, and adding it to the Beyond Unlimited and Above Unlimited plans is a way for Verizon to entice customers to choose those plans over the Go Unlimited plan, along with the other upgrades that they offer.
