iOS 12.1.3 and watchOS 5.1.3 updates released by Apple

After going through a few beta updates, iOS 12.1.3 is ready for public consumption.

Apple today released iOS 12.1.3 for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The update is available to all iOS 12 devices, which includes the iPhone 5s and later, iPad mini 2 and later, iPad Air and later, iPad 5th and 6th generation models, all iPad Pro models, and the iPod touch 6th generation.

The update to iOS 12.1.3 fixes bugs related to photos, audio distortion with the 2018 iPad Pro models, and CarPlay. There are some HomePod fixes included, too. Here's the full iOS 12.1.3 changelog from Apple:

  • Fixes an issue in Messages that could impact scrolling through photos in the Details view
  • Addresses an issue where photos could have striped artifacts after being sent from the Share Sheet
  • Fixes an issue that may cause audio distortion when using external audio input devices on iPad Pro (2018)
  • Resolves an issue that could cause certain CarPlay systems to disconnect from iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max

This release also includes bug fixes for HomePod. This update:

  • Fixes an issue that could cause HomePod to restart
  • Addresses an issue that could cause Siri to stop listening

If you've got an iOS 12 device, go into Settings > General > Software Update to grab iOS 12.1.3 right now.

Apple also released an update to watchOS 5.1.3 for the Apple Watch today. It includes bug fixes and improvements and can be downloaded by going into the Watch app on your iPhone and then selecting General > Software Update
