Blu Vivo 8 Enters the Flagship Fray

Blu Products today announced the Vivo 8, the company's flagship smartphone. The handset is crafted from aluminum and has a 5.5-inch full HD display with curved edges. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor clocked at 2 GHz with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The main rear camera has a 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 sensor with laser and phase detection autofocus, an LED flash, and an aperture of f/2.0. The main camera includes features such as adjustable bokeh, slow motion video capture, and face beautification. Blu expects Vivo 8 owners will be more interested in taking selfies, as the phone includes a 16-megapixel, wide-angle selfie cam with its own LED flash. The selfie cam includes features such as panorama mode, bright and soft flash bursts, group selfie mode, and face beautification software. The phone packs a large 4,010mAh battery and includes 18W rapid charging. The Vivo 8 supports the LTE networks of AT&T/Cricket and T-Mobile/MetroPCS. Other specs include WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and a fingerprint scanner. It ships with Android 7 Nougat. The Blu Vivo 8 is available from Amazon for $299, though Blu is running a limited sale wherein the phone will cost $199 from August 31 to September 1. The Vivo 8 comes in black or gold.
