Verizon is known by many mobile fans as one of the major CDMA carriers in the US, but today the company released a new phone that doesn’t have any CDMA support.
The LG Exalt LTE is a new flip phone from Verizon that has no 3G CDMA support. The Exalt is actually Verizon’s first 4G LTE basic phone, which makes it interesting despite the fact that it’s not a smartphone.
LG’s Exalt LTE includes support for Verizon’s 4G LTE network as well as GSM networks for use overseas. It includes HD Voice support for improved call quality as well as features like a 3-inch 400x240 display, 5-megapixel camera, 8GB of built-in storage, a microSD slot, and a removable 1,470mAh battery.
Pricing for the LG Exalt LTE is set at $0 down and $7 per month for 24 months, which works out to be a total of $168. Verizon says that the Exalt LTE is only available online.
