LG today announced the G4 Beat, a budget-minded version of the G4. The G4 Beat retains the G4's general size and appearance, but dials back the specs in order to drop the price tag. For example, the 5.2-inch screen has full HD resolution instead of quad HD resolution and the camera has an 8-megapixel sensor instead of a 16-megapixel sensor. The G4 Beat is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor with 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage. The front camera has a 5-megapixel sensor and the main camera features LG's laser-assisted focus. Wireless radios include 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS. The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and comes in several different colors. LG said the G4 Beat will be sold in Europe and Latin America first, followed by other regions later. LG didn't say if the G4 Beat will reach the U.S.
