Sprint has been throwing out new offerings left and right ever since Marcelo Claure took over as CEO last month, introducing two new plans and a trade-in promo. Now, to celebrate the debut of the iPhone 6, Claure has revealed that Sprint’s got another promo up its sleeve.
Claure told Re/code that Sprint will launch a new “iPhone for Life” plan alongside the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that’ll allow customers to lease Apple’s new hardware rather than own it. Pricing will start a $20 per month and will go up from there when you add more storage or move to the iPhone 6 Plus.
The iPhone for Life plan lets customers hand in their iPhone for a new model every two years. Since they’re renting the phone and not buying it, iPhone for Life subscribers will avoid paying sales tax as well.
In addition to the iPhone for Life promo, Sprint is planning to introduce a new rate plan for owners of Apple’s new smartphones. The plan will include unlimited talk, text and data for $50 per month.
Sprint has been making a pretty strong effort to attract new customers over the past month or so, and it apparently sees this iPhone 6 launch as a prime opportunity to grab some new subs. Not only does it have these iPhone offers running, but it’s also got that trade-in deal that it announced yesterday and its Family Share Pack plan.
