HTC Desire 510 official, will bring its 4.7-inch display to 'select' U.S. carriers

HTC Desire 510

HTC today took the wraps off of the newest member of its Desire family of smartphones, the HTC Desire 510.

HTC describes the Desire 510 as a device with an “incredible build quality,” “flagship” features and an “affordable price point.” The Desire 510 has a design that resembles its more expensive Desire 816 and Desire 610 siblings, but HTC has put some lower-end specs in the 510 to make it easier on your wallet.

The Desire 510’s full spec list is as follows:

  • 4.7-inch 854x480 display

  • 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor

  • 5-megapixel rear, VGA front cameras

  • 8GB of storage

  • microSD slot with support for 128GB cards

  • 1GB of RAM

  • 2100mAh battery

  • 139.9 x 69.8 x 9.99mm

  • Terra White, Meridian Gray color options

  • 4G LTE 800/1800/2600MHz support

  • Android 4.4

  • HTC Dot View case support

  • HTC Sense with BlinkFeed

The HTC Desire 510 will go on sale in “selected regions” in Europe and Asia as well as “select carriers” in the U.S (one of which might be Sprint). There’s no word yet on how the Desire 510 will be priced, but considering its spec list, it ought to be pretty low-cost.

So long as the Desire 510’s price tag matches its entry-level spec list, its combination of LTE connectivity, build quality and design could make it an interesting low-cost piece of hardware.
